Activities and Assignments: Procedures and Materials
Day One: Read the book "Lewis and Clark on the Trail of Discovery."
Group Discussion: Students will get into groups of four and brainstorm on a piece of paper what were the major explorations of western lands.
Students will draw posters of Lewis & Clark explorations.
Day two: Students will see a PowerPoint about different images of Western Expansion.
Students will listen and practice singing songs from the Lewis and Clark CD called "Songs of the Journey" by Bobby Horton.
Day three: Students will be assigned a project on a theme about Western expansion for the rest of the month.
